You may have received a bill from Lucent Pathology Partners for laboratory services performed on a biopsy or other specimen. These Pathology services were ordered by your healthcare provider. Results are reported to the referring physician. Lucent Pathology Partners provides services for several Dignity Health facilities and Dignity Health affiliated providers, as well as numerous independent providers in California.
What services were provided?
Our Pathologists provide the professional component of Pathology services which includes microscopic examination, diagnosis, and reporting. Our fees are separate from those charged for your office visit or hospital procedure, and are also separate from the technical component fees that cover the preparation and processing of these tests. As a result you may receive invoices from multiple facilities for the same service date.
Why do I owe this balance?
Lucent Pathology Partners will bill your insurance provider for our services if the information is provided to us at the time we receive the specimen. Every plan has varying levels of coverage. Depending on your plan, you may be responsible for a copayment, deductible, or the full balance. If you feel your claim was processed incorrectly please contact your insurance provider directly.
